AP European History study tips
- Short answers 1 and 2 use a secondary and a primary source: practice identifying an argument in a historian's paragraph and a sourcing point on a primary source.
- LEQ prompts ask for causation, comparison or continuity and change; practice outlining one of each type with specific evidence from at least two of the four course periods.
- The DBQ rubric awards a point for contextualization and one for a complex understanding; plan one sentence that connects the topic to a broader trend.
- Make a timeline of the four course periods (1450–2001) with key events and rulers so you can place unfamiliar documents quickly.
