Estimated, not official. College Board does not release the composite-to-score conversion. These ranges are rough approximations based on widely cited historical patterns and can be off by several points in any year. Cutoffs are the median of public estimates (RemNote, Fiveable, NUM8ERS/Omni, Cognito), checked October 23, 2026. Confidence: low (sources disagree widely, so the higher estimate was used; expect a larger margin of error).

AP Biology study tips

  • FRQs 1 and 2 (9 points each) are experimental-results and graphing questions; practice identifying independent and dependent variables, controls and a justified claim from the data.
  • On graphing parts, label both axes with units, use a proper scale and plot every point; each of these is a separate rubric point.
  • Short FRQs are 4 points: answer exactly what the verb asks (describe, explain, predict, justify) and use a cause-and-effect sentence, not a list of terms.
  • Statistics shows up in the equation sheet (chi-square, Hardy-Weinberg, water potential); know which one fits which scenario before exam day.
